The Alabama Fiber Arts Foundation was founded to support and grow the fiber arts community in Alabama. We saw a need for more accessible, inclusive, and community-centered opportunities to learn, share, and celebrate fiber arts—and we stepped in to fill that gap.

At our core, we believe in the acronym CRAFT:

• Create – Empowering individuals to express themselves through fiber-based crafts.

• Reflect – Honoring the heritage and evolution of fiber arts in our region and beyond.

• Aspire – Encouraging continual learning and personal growth within the fiber community.

• Foster – Building welcoming spaces and strong networks among artists, hobbyists, educators, and enthusiasts.

• Teach – Sharing skills and knowledge across generations to preserve and grow fiber traditions.
